Summary
Oil painting on artist's millboard, View of Old Arlington Church (St James's), Devon by Maria Pixell (fl. 1793 -1811), 19th century. A view of St James's Church in the village of Arlington, Devon. The church is seen from the side with the tower on the left and the chancel at the far right. It is set in a grassy landscape with pine trees behind and to the left. A number of gravestones and two stone tombs can be seen in the foreground. The sky is heavy with grey cloud.
