This collection has 2,914 items online
This large manor house retains many original interiors with panelled walls, carved chimneypieces and a unique ceiling inset with canvas panels painted with the family coats-of-arms and crests set against cloudy skies. The Great Staircase is hung with 17th century Brussels tapestries and there are fine paintings, furniture and porcelain on show. The attic rooms contain a superb collection of miniature period rooms assembled by Mrs F. M. M. Carlisle between 1933 and 1970.
