A collection of the novelist, Henry James memorabilia, including his writing desk and a letter written to Edmund Gosse in 1915, the year before his death explaining his reasons for taking out British citizenship. Also a remnant of the library of Henry James. His garden Writing Room was destroyed during the Second World War, and many of the books were subsequently sold by his nephew's widow, and are now - unsurprisingly - mostly in America.
