Hatchlands Park, Surrey

Hatchlands is home to the Cobbe Collection of Keyboard instruments and a wide variety of paintings and fine furniture collected by the Cobbe family and brought to Hatchlands by our current tenant, Alec Cobbe. The collection boasts pianos owned by Chopin, Elgar and Marie Antoinette and works of art by artists such as Titian, Gainsborough and Sir Joshua Reynolds. As much of the collection is still privately owned, we are unable to publish full inventory details here, but these highlights show some items from the Cobbe collections that should not be missed. The small National Trust owned collection at Hatchlands is mostly kept in storage to make room for the Cobbe family’s treasures, so this is a rare opportunity to look behind the scenes and see some of the items that are not on public display.
