Summary
Oil painting on canvas, An Italianate Landscape, manner of Aelbert Cuyp (Dordrecht 1620 – Dordrecht 1691), 17th century. A landscape with a lofty bridge and cattle beside a river with a cowgirl coming down the bank with sheep.
Provenance
May be the painting by `C.du Jardin' which Charles bought from the dealer and restorer, Mr Jennings on 17th September 1823 for £12, or the `Group of cattle, figures, river, bridge and convent' by `Karl du Jardin' marked by Charles with the word `beautiful' and the price 42 guineas, in the Myton Hall Sale catalogue in May 1842; purchased by the National Trust by private treaty sale from Lord St Oswald in 2010.
