Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Distant View of Saltram by William Tomkins (London c.1730 – London 1792), Signed and dated, bottom mid-left: Wm. T. 1770. The house seen from the south-east, apparently on the high ground overlooking the park, between Stag Lodge and Wixenford Farm. The stables were completed in 1771.

Commissioned by John Parker (1743/5 – 1788), Lord Boringdon and thence by descent; accepted by HM Treasury in part payment of death-duties from the executors of Edmund Robert Parker, 4th Earl of Morley (1877-1951) and transferred to the National Trust in 1957
