Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Travellers at a Blacksmith's Shop, manner of Philips Wouverman (Haarlem 1619 - Haarlem 1668), signed, bottom centre: P:W:, 17th - 18th century. A cottage right, outside which a horse is being shod; other figures and horses nearby, and children playing, a view over distant country, left. Possibly an autograph picture, restored.

Accepted by HM Treasury in part payment of death-duties from the executors of Edmund Robert Parker, 4th Earl of Morley (1877-1951) and transferred to the National Trust in 1957
