Summary

Lid for a bowl, porcelain, round and domed, made in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi Province, China, Jiaqing period (1796–1820), decorated in the famille rose (‘pink family’) palette in pink, green, blue, orange and black enamels with plants and butterflies, four-character marks in underglaze blue within the footring.

Provenance

Accepted by HM Government in lieu of inheritance tax and allocated to the National Trust, 1957.
