Summary
Oil painting on canvas (oval), Called Edward Rice (1694 - 1727), English School, circa 1705 -15. A half-length oval portrait of a gentleman wearing a long period wig, wearing blue velvet with gold braiding, collar open and a red cloak.

Recorded by Joseph Gulston at Newton House, c.1784, in the Eating Room; thereafter by descent, until acquired by the National Trust from Richard, 9th Baron Dynevor (1935 - 2008), with the aid of the NHMF in 1997
