Summary
Oil painting on panel, River landscape with a Stag Hunt by Lucas van Uden (Antwerp 1595 – Antwerp 1672). Figures are walking along a wooded path at the left before a pond surrounded by trees with a hunting lodge in the distance, towards which a stag is running, followed by the hunt.
Provenance
Probably brought from Wavendon by Sir Henry Hugh Arthur Hoare 6th Bt (1865 - 1947) and Alda Weston, Lady Hoare (d. 1947) between 1894 and 1898; given to the National Trust along with the house, its grounds, and the rest of contents by Sir Henry Hugh Arthur Hoare, 6th Bt (1865 – 1947) in 1946.
