Summary
Oil painting on canvas, A Boy with a Mousetrap holding a Mouse by Giacomo Francesco Cipper, il Todeschini (Feldkirch 1664 - Milan 1736). A boy, with a torn jerkin, wearing a hat and with a cat on his back, sits at a low table with a mousetrap placed on it. He holds a mouse up by the tail in his right hand and looks out at the spectator with a knowing grin.

Brought from Wavendon by Sir Henry Hugh Arthur Hoare 6th Bt (1865 - 1947) and Alda Weston, Lady Hoare (d. 1947)in 1897; given to the National Trust along with the house, its grounds, and the rest of contents by Sir Henry Hugh Arthur Hoare, 6th Bt (1865 – 1947) in 1946.
