Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Arabella Vernon, Lady Rushout (1677-1705), attributed to Michael Dahl (Stockholm 1656/9 – London 1743). A three-quarter-length portrait of a young woman, facing, head inclined slightly to the left, gazing at the spectator, her left arm leaning on a pedestal her right arm by her side, wearing a grey satin dress over a white chemise with a blue cloak draped over her left shoulder. Arabella was the 8th daughter of Sir Thomas Vernon and Lady Anne. She married Sir James Rushout, 2nd Baronet of Northwich Park, in 1700.

Acquired from 10th Lord Vernon in lieu of death-duties after the death of Francis Lawrence William Venables-Vernon, 9th Lord Vernon (1889 -1963) and transferred to the National Trust in 1967 through the National Land Fund
