Summary
One of two lace borders. Structured bobbin lace border. Peach cotton plain weave. Border lined, finished either end with five hooks and eyes. (three press-studs have been removed from bottom edge, slight verdigris stains can be seen and unpicked stitches on top edge). A 17th century Italian lace used in the 20th century. c.1930, possibly as a belt for a negligee.

Found in straw box with other laces and notes written by Lady Berwick (1890-1972). 8th Lady Berwick collection; bequeathed to the National Trust by Edith Teresa Hulton, Lady Berwick (1890-1972).
