Summary
A woman's skirt, part of a dress, made from slate blue grosgrain silk. The skirt is overlaid with black cotton lace in a floral pattern with scalloping around the hem. It is fully lined in brown cotton sateen, with a tin weighted inner flounce in lilac silk, which is now extremely fragile. The skirt is gathered onto a linen tape waistband and fastens with two hooks & eyes and five metal press studs centre back, intact. Handwritten in black ink on the inner waistband, "Kertland 1896", the donor.
