Summary
One of a pair of cloisonne enamel rectangular coffers, decorated with formal motifs of Kuei dragons and clouds in colours on pale turquoise ground. C18. Cloud scrolls on tops, lotus on front, sides and back, dragon on friezes. Gilt corners styled as bamboo. Hinged lid. Tin liner.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966) with the house and the rest of the contents.
