Summary
This item is a circular black glazed red earthenware saucer with a slight everted rim and raised on foot ring. It is cold gilded with a figure amongst foliage and diaper pattern border around inner rim. The item has a matching tea bowl (509532.2). Made circa 1750 - 1775.
Provenance
Made in Ironbridge, Shropshire circa 1750 - 1775. Bequeathed to the National Trust in the will of Sir Arthur Paul Benthall dated 28th July 1983. Accepted for ownership by the National Trust in 1993 following the death of Sir Arthur Paul Benthall in 1992.
