Caption
This picture was adapted from one painted for the Cappella Marcaccioni in Santa Maria del Suffragio, on the via Giulia in Rome. Chiari painted scenes of the Birth of the Virgin and the Adoration of the Magi for the third chapel on the right. A horizontal adaptation of the composition by Chiari is in the Musée Granet in Aix-en-Provence.
Summary
Oil painting on canvas, The Adoration of the Magi by Guiseppe Chiari (1654-1727). The Virgin is seated on the left and turned to the right, showing the Christ Child to the Magi, Saint Joseph on the far left and cherubs above. Pendant to NT 436010.1.
