Oil painting on canvas, Thomas Vernon, MP (1654-1721), possibly by John Vanderbank the younger (London 1694 - London 1739), inscribed: with name of sitter, bottom left: THOMAS VERNON K.C. M.P. 1654 - 1721 A three-quarter length portrait of a man, turned to the left, gazing at the spectator, leaning with his right arm on a stone ledge, his left hand on his hip, in a long pale brown wig, black lawyer's gown and white lace bands.
