Summary
Oil painting on canvas (oval), Gertrude Morice, Lady Cotton (d. 1701) by Michael Dahl (Stockholm 1656/9 – London 1743), circa 1663. Derived from Lely's Duchess of Cleveland (1662). Gertrude, of the Manor of Hatley St George, Cambridgeshire with lands and tenements in Hatley St George, Tadlow and Gamlingay was the daughter of Sir William Morice, 1st Baronet. In 1663 she married Sir Robert Cotton son of Sir Thomas Cotton, 1st Bt and Alice Constable. They had a daughter Alice.
