Provenance: manuscript inscription on front endpaper in each vol.: "Davenport Talbot" [probably William Davenport-Talbot (1764-1800)]. Binding: eighteenth-century full sprinkled calf; sewn on three supports; five raised bands; blind roll pattern on board edges; gold-tooled spines, with fillets and floral stamps; gilt title and vol. number on reddish-brown leather label on spines; red sprinkled bookblock edges.
