Binding: Eighteenth-century (Dutch?) mottled, polished skin over boards on four raised cords plus two false raised bands, spine gilt tooled in seven compartments with central diamond lozenge (foliate spray, topped with pomegranate, flanked by two birds), foliate corner-pieces, remains of brown spine label, remains of paper label in top spine compartment, boards with broad outer and narrower inner role, with coronet device at corners between the rolls, foliate corner-pieces within, central foliate lozenge with birds, gilt roll at board edges, red and black mottled edges of text block.
