v.1 ; 8vo. Vols. 1 and 2 shelved separately. Imperfect: preliminary half-title leaf missing; preliminaries appear to be misbound, and consist of title page, followed by two leaves (first leaf signed a) with an "Advertisement", paginated as pages [vii]-[x], and with the author's epitaph on verso of second leaf, followed by an unpaginated dedicatory leaf, followed by a contents leaf paginated [v]-vi. Provenance: eighteenth century manuscript inscription "O Finch" (partially cropped) on title page. Provenance: nineteenth century armorial bookplate with crest depicting a lion statant with tail extended and the Talbot motto "Prest d'accomplir" on front pastedown. Binding: nineteenth century? half calf with marbled paper covers; gilt tooling, gilt tooled title label reading "Carr's Sermons" and volume number on spine.
