Oil on canvas, Edward Paston (1660-1713), by Sir Godfrey Kneller (1646-1723), inscribed 'EDWARD PASTON Esq, Ob 1713' and numbered 99 lower right, in a carved wood oval frame. See also NT 2900204. This portrait is mentioned in Edmund Farrer (ed.), Portraits in Norfolk Houses, by the late Prince Frederick Duleep Singh, Norwich, Jarrold, 1928, vol. 2, p. 126, no. 84, but listed together with a portrait of his first wife, Margaret, née Eyre (1666-89), no. 85.

By descent at Oxburgh hall; sold in the 1951 sale, lot 628 (together with NT 2900204); the pair sold at auction at Christie's, London, 12 March 1992; the pair purchased by the National Trust at auction at Keys Auctioneers, Aylsham, 6 September 2016, partly funded from gifts and bequests.
