Summary
Tapestry, wool and silk, A Farewell, Flemish, probably Antwerp, c. 1660-1700. A man wearing armour and carrying a shield walks to the right, turning back to extend his hand to a woman in a yellow dress. Another woman stands behind the pair. The subject could be Aeneas leaving Dido. The tapestry has no borders and was probably once part of a larger piece. It has been cut and re-joined down the centre.
