Summary
[Destroyed in the fire of 2015] Oil painting on canvas, Elizabeth Onslow (nee Knight), Lady Onslow (1692-1731) by Hans Hysing (Stockholm 1678 – London 1753), inscribed, bottom left, in yellow: Eliz.th Lady Onslow Obiit 1731, circa 1700 - 15. A full-length portrait of a young woman, standing, facing, in a long white satin dress and scarlet cloak lined with white fur which she holds in her right hand; she appears to be standing on a terrace by the base of a draped column. Previously attributed to Michael Dahl.

Purchased by the Ministry of Public Building and Works in 1963 from the 6th Earl, transferred to the National Trust in 1977
