Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Ninon de Lenclos (1620-1705), Italian (Florentine) School, 17th century. Inscribed with her name in gold letters across the top. A bust-length portrait of the French author, courtesan, freethinker and patron of the arts, facing, gazing at the spectator, wearing a brown dress with a white cloak fastened with a small bow below her right shoulder. Her hair is braided in two long strands falling on each shoulder and she has on a pearl necklace.
