Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Jacob and Rachel at the Well by an artist of the Italian (Bolognese) School, late 17th to early 18th century. A shepherd boy, Jacob, is kneeling under a palm tree, with two boys behind playing pipes; he watches the arrival of three girls, carrying ewers and driving sheep, and gestures to a brook at his feet. Jacob, in a red coat is under a palm tree at a well with musicians to the right, Rachel, followed by other women with water jars and sheep are approaching on left.
