Summary
A Meissen Ecuelle (broth bowel), with separate cover and stand, one of a pair. Made in hard paste porcelain, the quatrefoil shaped bowl with ‘ozier’ (basket)-moulded decoration, the cover with a lemon spray and leaf finial, painted in colourful enamels with Watteauesque figures in a garden landscape, scattered naturalistic flowers and gold line bands. Meissen, circa 1748-55. Meissen crossed swords makers mark in blue enamel on the base of the Ecuelle and the stand
