This landscape, signed and dated 1655 was listed in the collection of Ralph Bankes (1631?- 1677) in Gray’s Inn, London, for £32 in 1658/9, before he moved it to Kingston Hall (later Lacy). It is an exceptional size for this artist, making it more likely to have been a specific commission.
