Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Landscape with a Girl milking Goats, Franco-Netherlandish School, circa 1770-1780. A narrow vertical panel, the lower quarter containing a landscape with a girl milking goats beside a path; behind her grows a broken tree, and in the distance more livestock can be seen. The top part of the picture is taken up with sky. One of seven paintings set into panels in the wall.
Provenance
The bequest of Margaret (Anderson) McEwan, The Hon. Mrs Ronald - later Dame Margaret - Henry Fulke Greville, DBE (1863-1942) from probate records linked with the donation of the property to the National Trust in 1943. This item found on the record for Polesden Lacey pictures, drawings etc., the Small Drawing Room, page 128.
