Summary
Marble, a Greek philosopher or man of letters, antique. A marble herm or terminal bust of a Greek philosopher or man of letters wearing a tainia and a long curly beard. Parts of the hair and forehead on both sides have broken off. Previously catalogued as an 18th century copy after the antique.

Purchased in 1987 by the National Trust from Francis Curzon, 3rd Viscount Scarsdale (1924-2000).
