Summary
Monteith (or bowl for rinsing and cooling glasses) in blue and white glazed earthenware, probably made in Delft, Dutch Republic, late 17th century. Round, with a scalloped and perforated rim, decorated on the inside with a bird on a rock with a flowering plant and a butterfly and on the exterior with birds and flowers, and with a stylised leaf scroll along the inside and outside of the rim.
