Summary
Covered vase in blue and white porcelain, one of a pair, probably made in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi Province, China, c. 1700. Of baluster shape, rectangular with inward-curving corners, decorated on alternating sides with rocks and flowers (peonies and lotus) and landscapes, with traces of painted gilding, the lid decorated with flowers.
