Summary
A commode, one of a pair of tulipwood, kingwood and rosewood marquetry-inlaid commodes, North Italian, late 18th century, in the manner of Giuseppe Maggiolini (1738 - 1814). Of three drawers, the uppermost inlaid with a run of foliated scrolls, the two lower centred by an oval of an urn issuing leaves. The uprights inlaid with flowers and foliage, the ends with ovals of musical trophies. The legs square-section and tapering. The drawers fitted with ring handles with backplates decorated with male busts.
