Summary
Cover to silver cup, DUN/S/477a, made by Daniel Garnier, c. 1695, one of two with DUN/S/476. 'The moulded domed covers are raised and have applied ring sections, with gadrooned rims and locating flanges. Six cut card leaf forms are applied below the cast baluster lobed finials of each... [Both this cup and DUN/S/476] are engraved with a shield of arms and earl's coronet for George Booth, 2nd Earl of Warrington, with palm frond mantling, and similarly on the covers...' (Lomax and Rothwell, 'Country House Silver from Dunham Massey', 2006, pp.55).
Provenance
Previously on loan to the National Trust by the Rt Hon. Lord Deramore, and became the property of the National Trust after his death in 2006.
