Summary
Silver cup and cover made by Daniel Garnier, c. 1695, one of two with DUN/S/476. 'The bell shaped body of each is raised and has a calyx of applied cut-card work of six formalised rings rising from the base; the low feet are cast and have gadrooned rims. The scrolled handles are cast and have leafy terminals with alternating large and small descending beads. The moulded domed covers are raised and have applied ring sections, with gadrooned rims and locating flanges. Six cut card leaf forms are applied below the cast baluster lobed finials of each... [Both this cup and DUN/S/477] are engraved with a shield of arms and earl's coronet for George Booth, 2nd Earl of Warrington, with palm frond mantling, and similarly on the covers...'
