Caption
George Booth (1635-1719), son of Sir John Booth (d.1690) and Dorothy St.John, daughter of Sir Anthony St.John, Kt. Married Martha Hawtrey (d.1718). They had four children, the eldest of whom are shown here. Katherine later became a dog lover, and even added a codicil to her will, whereby her beloved Dutch Mastiff, Poppet, would be cared for after her death. She even left her ‘the little table with a drawer to put her meat or combs in.’
