Caption
The Hon. Henry Grey was the son of George Harry Grey, 5th Earl of Stamford (1737-1819) and Lady Henrietta Cavendish-Bentinck (1737-1827), daughter of the 2nd Duke of Portland. He was a Captain in the Royal Navy, and drowned at sea in the shipwreck of The Weasel in Barnstaple Bay, off the coast of Devon.

Henry Grey (1775-1799), by John James Halls (Colchester 1776 - Hampstead 1853), previously attributed to Sir William Beechey RA (Burford 1753 – Hampstead 1839) and previously catalogued in the manner of John Hoppner (1758-1799), circa 1799. A half-length portrait of a young man, turned to left, gazing at the spectator, in a landscape, wearing a plum coloured coat, white waistcoat, white shirt and stock, short powdered hair. A portrait of the Hon. Henry Grey (1775-1799), fourth son of the fifth Earl of Stamford.
