Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Sir Francis Acland 2nd Bt (d.1649), manner of Gilbert Jackson (fl.1621-1640), 1645. A portrait of Sir Francis Acland 2nd Bt as a youth, turned to the left, gazing at spectator. He has long brown hair and is dressed in dark green satin suit with silver buttons and a shoulder length lace collar. His left hand is touching a large brown dog which is standing on its backleg with its front paws on his suit. Brown building on the right, distant landscape and clouds on the left. Son of Sir John Acland, 1st Bt (c.1591-1647) and Elizabeth Vincent (d. c.1650) the daughter of Sir Francis Vincent 1st Bt (c.1568-1640) and Sarah Paulet (1557-1608).
