Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Sir Thomas Dyke Acland, 3rd/7th Baronet Acland of Columb-John MP (1722-1785) by Thomas Hudson (1701-1779). A portrait of a young man, the son of Sir Hugh Acland, 6th Bt and who married Elizabeth Dyke, three-quarter-length turned to the right, gazing at spectator. He has on a grey tie-wig tied at the back with a black ribbon and wears a blue-green velvet jacket and waistcoat, plain white stock and frilled lace shirt-front and cuffs. He holds a black tricorn hat which is trimmed with gold braid, in his right hand and his left hand rests by the wrist on a ledge on the right. His gilt sword hilt can be seen hanging low from his left hip. Interior with large red drape on the left.

By descent until accepted in lieu of tax by HM Government and transferred to the National Trust in 1995 .
