Summary
Oil painting on canvas, John Robartes, 2nd Lord Robartes & 1st Earl of Radnor (1606 - 1685), manner of Edward Bower (fl. 1629 - d. 1666/7), circa 1634. A full-length portrait of 1st Earl of Radnor, standing slightly right, in an interior with a red and white checquered floor, in front of a large classical plinth. He holds a glove held in his left hand and his right on his hip. He wears a black and white slashed doublet with large lace collar and pink bows round his waist and extravagantly large rosettes at knees and on his shoes. To his left is an opening showing the sky beyond.

By inheritance and descent, until given by Gerald, 7th Viscount Clifden (1883 - 1966), with the transfer of the house to the National Trust in 1953
