Summary
Oil painting on canvas, a portrait of a lady, thought to be Lady Rachel Russell, Duchess of Bridgwater (c.1700 - 1777) by Charles Jervas (Dublin 1675 – London 1739), circa 1720/25. A three-quarter-length portrait of the daughter of the 2nd Duke of Bedford, in a landscape, facing towards the right with her left hand to her cheek, wearing a grey silk dress.
Provenance
acquired by Victor, 8th Viscount Clifden (1887 – 1974), and given to the National Trust in 1969.
