Summary
Oil painting on canvas, An Unknown Lady, manner of Sir Peter Lely (Soest 1618 – London 1680), circa 1660. A three-quarter-length portrait of a lady seated, facing, wearing a blue skirt, white blouse and pale mauve stole which she holds in her left hand. in landscape background. On the left ia a landscape background and on the right she is framed by a billowing golden curtain.

From the collection of Sir John Foley Grey, Bart., Enville Hall near Stourbridge, sold at Christie's sale, 15 June 1928, lot 52; bought by Glen; acquired by Gerald, 7th Viscount Clifden (1883 - 1966), and given with the transfer of the house to the National Trust in 1953
