Summary
(Folio 1, recto, horizontal to the page) Procession in honor of the God Bacchus. Bacchus is sitting on a triumphal wagon. In the procession that runs by car to a temple, Satyrs Putti and others spoke to partying and dancing. Some play on flute or tambourine, others carry sticks or jugs with grape bunches and vines with them.
Provenance
At Saltram by 1771 and thence by descent to Montagu Brownlow Parker (1878-1962), 5th Earl of Morley and given to NT as part of the Endowment following transfer in 1957.
