Oil painting on canvas, John Parker, 1st Earl of Morley (1772–1840), as a boy by Gilbert Stuart, (North Kingstown, Rhode Island 1755 - Boston 1828) 1784/86. A half-length portrait of the son of 1st Lord Boringdon and Theresa Robinson. He is looking to the left wearing a brown coat, and his left hand is resting on a book.
Provenance
Neither of the Stuart portraits of the 1st Earl of Morley as a boy is recorded in any Saltram catalogue prior to 1967;given to the National Trust as part of the endowment by Montagu Brownlow Parker, 5th Earl of Morley (1878–1962)
