Summary

Oil painting on canvas, British Warship firing Salvoes in a Calm with Other Boats by Charles Brooking (Deptford 1723 – London 1759). A British man of war at the right is firing a salute. Sailing vessels at the left and behind them another warship firing.

Provenance

Accepted by HM Treasury in part payment of death-duties from the executors of Edmund Robert Parker, 4th Earl of Morley (1877-1951) and transferred to the National Trust in 1957
