Summary
An earthenware (Faience) scallop shell shaped shaving dish/basin, probably Spanish or North Italian, painted with three women in a landscape. Framed with blue rocaille scrolls in a palette of blue, green, yellow, iron red and maganese brown. It is tin glazed.
Provenance
At Saltram by 1957 accepted by HM Treasury in part payment of Death Duty from the Executors of Edmund Robert Parker (1877-1951) and transferred to NT in 1957.
