Summary
One of a set of fifty three plates from a Chinese porcelain tobacco leaf dinner service made for the European market in the reign of Chien Lung. Decorated in deep blue, red, green, turquoise and other colours, gilded on a near white ground.
Provenance
Probably at Saltram by 1924 and by descent to Edmund Robert Parker (1877-1951), 4th Earl of Morley and accepted in part payment of Death Duty by HM Treasury and transferred to NT in 1957.
