Oil painting on canvas, Lady Penelope D'Arcy, Lady Hervey (d.1661) by a follower of Sir Anthony Van Dyck (Antwerp 1599 - London 1641), c.1660-1. Attributed to Mary Beale (1633-1699). Three-quarter-length portrait of a woman, turned to the left, gazing at the spectator, wearing a widow's black dress, black veil over a white hood, white collar, and holding flowers in her left hand. A distant landscape with setting sun to her left.
