Oil painting on canvas, Anne Hamilton, Mrs Michael Ward (m.1709), by Charles Jervas (Dublin 1675 – London 1739), after 1709. Inscribed bottom left: Mrs ANNE WARD. A three-quarter-length portrait of the wife of Judge Michael Ward, whom she married in 1709, standing in a landscape, her body facing the viewer but her head downturned to the right. She wears a blue velvet dress. Her right hand rests on a bank, or masonry, to the left, and she holds a handkerchief in her left hand.
